5 of the best travel speakers under £50 for the perfect road trip
Want to make any road trip more epic? Then you’re going to need the perfect tunes.
A car radio is great – but it only takes you so far. Eventually, you’re going to need something that you can tune-up in your hotel room, tent, or campsite too.
Fortunately, technology has evolved beyond the point of carrying your boombox on your shoulder wherever you go.
Today, you can find countless high-quality travel speakers beautifully designed to fit into any pocket or backpack.
These handy speakers can give extra volume to your Bluetooth-streaming tunes in your car, or they can deliver your own personal playlist when you’re on the move in the great outdoors.
While a decent Bluetooth speaker used to cost a small fortune, particularly if you wanted features like portability or Wi-Fi, buying travel speakers today is cheaper than you’d think.
To help you make the right choice, we’ve put together a list of our favourite tried and tested speakers – just for you.

3. Creative MUVO Play
Don’t worry if you haven’t heard the name “CREATIVE” when looking for the best travel speaker before. We only recently came across this brand ourselves, and we’ve been pretty impressed by what we’ve seen so far.
The Creative MUVO is a lightweight and portable travel speaker that’s IPX7 certified. That means that it can withstand quite a bit of rain and water before it starts to fizzle out.
The speaker fits in your pocket or backpack with ease and offers up to 10 hours of battery life. The included USB Type-C cable makes it easy to recharge too.
One particularly impressive think about this £35 best travel speaker, is that you can pair multiple items together to make your own surround-sound experience too.

Maybe too much bass for some people
Not a well-known brand
4. Kitsound Diggit
If you’re looking for the best travel speakers to take with you to a camping site, or to a weekend on the beach, then this could be just the item for you. Seriously, we haven’t seen anything else quite like it.
This awesome speaker comes with a removable stake so you can stab it into the sand or grass when you don’t want to worry about stopping it from toppling over when you’re working on your BBQ.
You can also take the stake off, so your travel speaker is a little smaller if you don’t need it.
There’s an LED lighting ring so you don’t lose your investment when it gets dark, and the dual opposing drivers deliver some pretty powerful sound too.
Up to 8 hours of playtime on a single drive
Multiple colours to choose from
Stereo sound by syncing speakers
UK-based customer service
Dual drivers for bigger sound
LED lighting to track your speaker down easily
Honestly, we just love the way that this speaker looks.
Whether it’s sitting next to you on the beach or banging out some tunes from your coffee table, it’s going to look sensational, particularly if you opt for the wood finish.
The optional stake is a really nice touch for people who love being in the great outdoors too.
Handy removable stake

Can pair multiple speakers together
Great sound quality
Not as loud as some alternatives
A little bulkier than other travel speakers
5. Tronsmart Force
Last but not least, we have the powerful as heck Tronsmart Force.
This Bluetooth speaker comes with Bluetooth 5.0 for faster and more durable connectivity, as well as 3D Stereo, a bass boost, and up to 40Watts of pumping music power.
There’s a 100ft Bluetooth range, so you can still control your music when you’re kicking a ball around on a field or running around a beach.
What’s more, with a Voice assistant built-in, you can just ask Alexa to play your favourite tunes if you don’t feel like slowing down to fiddle with your phone.
Like a few of the other best travel speakers we’ve looked at so far, the Tronsmart also comes with IPX7 waterproof performance, so it’s perfect for the beach or by the pool too.

100ft Bluetooth range
Stereo connectivity to combine multiple speakers
40W powerful output
6600 mAh battery
3D stereo effect
Up to 15 hours of playtime
Smart assistant capability
Honestly, this is one of the most advanced travel speakers that we’ve seen on the market.
It’s not the most attractive option, and it’s a little bulkier than some of the other travel speakers available, but it really accomplishes so much more than many of the similar devices around today.
Amazing Bluetooth connectivity
Fantastic 3D Audio
Syncs with your smart speaker
Great battery life
Little bit boring to look at
Too bulky to fit in most pockets
Choosing the best travel speaker
Clearly, there are a handful of great options available today when it comes to picking the best travel speaker that you can buy with £50 or less.
In our opinion, you can’t really beat the Tronsmart for exceptional audio and smart features.
If you’re looking for 360-degree sound on a budget, however, then the Kitsound is an excellent choice too – and one that looks great.
Our advice? Check out some of the top-rated travel speakers on Amazon and pinpoint the features that matter most to you, such as:
360 degree sound: To fill an entire space with music in every direction. This means that you don’t have to gather around to hear your speaker when you’re at the beach.
Portability and durability: The best travel speaker needs to be easy and convenient to carry with you. A carry handy or a small design is usually helpful. It pays to opt for something that’s waterproof too – particularly when you’re travelling in the UK, or hanging out around water (i.e. pools or beaches)
Bluetooth connectivity: You don’t want to pay for all the freedom of a travel speaker just to be restricted by an aux cable. Get your hands on that fantastic Bluetooth connectivity instead. 5.0 Bluetooth is the best quality.
Battery life: How long do you need your travel speaker to last? Is a couple of hours good enough, or do you need it to hold strong for your entire camping trip?
Remote control: Choose a speaker that you can control from a distance when you’re having fun. Alexa or smart speaker access is a huge bonus if you can get it – but an app on your smartphone can be just as good.
